GFA holds eco-driving training in Malaysia for its members' outsourced fleet

GFA organized a one-day defensive and eco-driving training for its members' subcontractors in Selangor, Malaysia last 5 January 2018.

A total of 15 drivers working for 3 GFA member companies - i.e. Heineken, HP and Bollore Logistics - attended the training session. The course provided by ISO Group, included theory and practical sessions.

GFA is grateful to its member - Heineken -  for sponsoring the F&B at the training and to the Material Handling and Logistics Technology Association of Malaysia for defraying a portion of the training fees.

(Initial results from Lao PDR and Viet Nam eco-driving training program implemented by Grutter Consulting in 2016 showed that immediately after the training, the drivers averaged fuel savings of 7-8% compared to before. If maintained, this would equate to 3-4 tonnes less of carbon dioxide emitted per annum per truck in the two countries and would create a positive cost-benefit ratio.)
